Reading Plans: Where to Start
You don't have to read the Bible cover to cover. Here are simple plans that give you a clear path—whether you want to focus on the Gospels, Psalms, or a bit each day.
Gospels in 30 days
The four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) tell the life and teaching of Jesus. A simple plan: read one chapter per day. Matthew has 28 chapters, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 21—so in about 90 days you can finish all four. If you want a quicker overview, read one Gospel first (e.g. Mark, the shortest) in 16 days.
On the Read page, select your language and version, then choose Matthew (or Mark, Luke, John) and start with chapter 1. Use the "Next" link to move to the next chapter each day. No account needed.
Psalms in a month
The book of Psalms has 150 chapters (each chapter is one psalm). Reading about five psalms per day gets you through in a month. Psalms are prayers and songs—ideal for reflection and devotion. You can read them in order or pick a few each day from the Read page by selecting Psalms and the chapter number.
Many people pair the Daily Verse with one or two psalms for a short daily routine.
A verse or chapter per day
If you prefer not to follow a fixed plan, use the Daily Verse for one verse per day, or pick one book (e.g. Proverbs, James) and read one chapter per day until you finish. The goal is consistency, not speed. Pro Bible's Prev/Next links make it easy to move through a book without re-selecting from the dropdowns.
