Accessibility
We want Pro Bible to be usable by as many people as possible. This page describes the accessibility features we offer and how you can use them.
Font size
On the Read page, after you load a passage, you will see + and − buttons above the scripture. Use these to increase or decrease the text size. The size is kept for the duration of your session so you can read comfortably. You can also use your browser's zoom (e.g. Ctrl/Cmd and + or −) on any page.
Contrast and layout
We use a simple layout with dark text on a light background for the main content. Headings and links are clearly distinguished. If you need higher contrast, you can use your operating system's accessibility settings (e.g. high contrast mode) or browser extensions; the site does not override those settings.
Keyboard use
You can tab through the main links and form controls (dropdowns, buttons) on the site. The Read page dropdowns and the Go button can be used with the keyboard. Use Enter or Space to activate buttons and open dropdowns. We do not currently offer custom keyboard shortcuts for Prev/Next chapter; you can use the on-screen links or your browser's back/forward if needed.
Screen readers and assistive technology
Pages use standard HTML headings (h1, h2, etc.) and semantic structure so screen readers can navigate by heading. Links and buttons have clear text or labels. Form controls (dropdowns) are associated with visible labels. We aim to follow common accessibility practices; if you use a screen reader and run into problems, please contact us and we will do our best to improve.
The Read page includes a print button that opens your browser's print dialog. The print layout hides navigation and controls so you get a clean page of scripture. You can also save as PDF from the print dialog for offline reading.
Feedback
If you have suggestions for improving accessibility on Pro Bible, or if something does not work well with your device or assistive technology, we would like to hear from you. Please contact us and describe what would help. We cannot promise to implement every request, but we take accessibility seriously and will consider your feedback.
